Standard errors adjusted for clustering on the adoptive father are in parentheses. In Columns 1 and 4, the adoptive father’s abilities have been corrected for measurement errors using the reliability ratios in Table 3. The estimates in Columns 2, 3, 5, and 6 are based on predicted parental abilities using the adoptive uncles and the first-stage relationships in Table 2. In Columns 3 and 6 the first-stage relationships have been adjusted with the relative sibling correlations for different abilities in Table 7.
